Colleague Jeff decided to help with refugee shelters from Ukraine during the holiday period.
Jeff had a nice skiing holiday in prospect. A good thick layer of snow and après ski fun. Relaxing allowed people to go on holiday as usual.
Due to circumstances the holiday could not take place. But since the week had already been reserved and Jeff wanted to make himself useful, he decided to help a refugee shelter from Ukraine with his brother, sister and a number of friends. ''The feeling of being able to do something for someone else is so rewarding. Instead of doing nothing on holiday, according to Jeff."
That is why they decided to start an initiative to collect financial and food resources for the Ukrainian refugees. To this end, the group placed a call through various channels, hoping to reach as many people as possible. We succeeded with a total amount of € 7,195, and a bus fully loaded with food. Everyone came to help. ZEST-Innovate and many other entrepreneurs, friends, family and acquaintances from their own circle. We were able to provide an important contribution.
The group immediately left for Poland - Warsaw. The first country to directly receive Ukrainian refugees. There they were welcomed by a local initiator. Everything was organized from the central train station in Warsaw. Their arrival was timely and immediately part of the on-site team. From distributing food, medicine and hygiene products to transport and unloading of the goods. Everyone contributed. Local residents and entrepreneurs drove back and forth to deliver resources.
The total amount has been fully used to purchase as many necessary resources and food as possible from local retailers and suppliers. The situation is too risky, which is why the local fixxer mediated to transport the donation to the final destination - Ukraine. The goods were received in good order and signed by a member of parliament from Kiev (Ukraine).
