Last week Jeff was able to defend his thesis at Avans University of Applied Science. On behalf of ZEST-Innovate, Jeff conducted research into implementing a cobot for our assembly cell.
Thesis final conclusion
For specific applications, the use of a cobot in this setup is certainly recommended, but his research has also shown that it is not worthwhile for every application to have some of the human actions performed by a cobot. Our existing concept of the assembly cell is best for this, where the actions are carried out ergonomically and according to instructions on the screen. Whereby a 100% product inspection can be carried out. We have received additional advice about the use of cobots in the future! Jeff starts at ZEST-Innovate as a junior engineer. Welcome Jeff!
