Lifespan and final tester for consumer series product
Lifespan
The lifetime tester tests the drive of an electric TV mount for wear and defects. With the lifetime tester, it can be analyzed more quickly whether the drive achieves its expected service life. The product can be tested under different (extreme) loads, to ensure that the product is suitable before it goes into production. This lifetime tester was used during the development process and is also used to periodically perform a test during production. Zest took care of the hardware (mechanical, printed circuit board and other electronics) as well as the software for this project. The software controls the tester and measures several important parameters throughout the process. From this, the weakest part of the product can then be concluded.
Final tester
The final tester is used at the end of the production line, but is also used during the determination of the correct specifications (approval/rejection criteria). The final tester checks whether the drive is sufficient to be built into the system itself. The main components of the drive are an electric motor including gearheads, slip clutch and encoder. The final tester is used to check 8 parameters throughout the entire motion cycle, including the encoder and the adjustment of the slip clutch.
The challenges within this project were to be able to use the tester to analyze different parameters that determine the specifications, but also to develop a robust and simple system that can be used in the production line in China.
At the request of the customer, Zest took care of the delivery in China, including the training of the employees there.
